Library information system of University of Maribor (LISUM) is comprised of

• University Library Maribor

and 11 faculty libraries:

• Library of Technical faculties Maribor (Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Faculty of chemistry and chemistry technology, Faculty of mechanical engineering),
• Library of Faculty of Economics and Business,
• Miklošič Library (Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics),
• Library of Faculty of Organizational Sciences,
• Library of Law faculty,
• Library of Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences,
• Library of Faculty of Medicine,
• Library of Faculty of Logistics,
• Library of Faculty of Criminal Justice and Security,
• Library of Faculty of Health Sciences,
• Library of Faculty of Energy Technology.

LISUM has several roles:

• It's organizational role is connecting University library Maribor with faculty libraries through professional referents,
• it's informational role is providing access to information and resources,
• it's pedagogical role is educating users,
• it's bibliographical role is management of bibliographies of university professors and researchers and
• it's archiving role is to provide security and protection of it's resources.

With connecting University library Maribor and faculty libraries through selection and purchases of resources, informational activities, creation of bibliographies of professors and researchers, unified informational system, unified database of users which have only one library card that is valid in all library systems and similar user educational programmes LISUM created a modern model in which all libraries in university are functionally interconnected.
